Stop Urban Shield is a broad coalition of grassroots community and social justice organizations that have united against Urban Shield, a SWAT team training and weapons expo that brings together local, regional, and international police-military units – including those from the Apartheid State of Israel – to collaborate on and profit from new forms of surveillance, state repression, and state violence.
As we prepare for our planned statewide mobilization against the Urban Shield weapons expo on Sept. 9, we are working to build our networks, educate our communities, and bring people into the fight. One of the ways we are doing that is by organizing public Town Hall events in the months leading up to September. We just held one in Oakland, and will be organizing two more in the Bay Area on June 24th and August 26th, locations TBD.
